On Friday March 22, 2019 Shelley Marchetti, Northeast District (NED) Advocacy Chair, and Lauren Leporini, past District Chair, along with recently relocated NED member Matthew Downey served as panelists during an evening event. Participants discussed what advocacy is, the importance of advocacy at all levels, and ways to get involved. The students were called on to share what physical therapy is with consumers, healthcare partners, and political leaders as well as support APTA and CPTA Political Action Committee efforts.

CPTA Staff and Lobbyist Carl London have garnered the participation of Dr. Jim Wood in tomorrow’s Event. Please broadcast to your networks and make it a point to be there yourselves. This is a great opportunity for Physical Therapy to demonstrate strong support for a healthcare advocate.
Dr. Wood is a Dentist and is Chair of the Assembly Health Committee. He influences many areas relevant to the practice of Physical Therapy and we need to have a great presence at tomorrow’s event!
Join us for an engaging evening with Paul Carlisle, Chair of CPTA Ethics & Professionalism Council.
